Movie Night!

Dear Santa,

Sorry we didn't make that phone call to you last night.  We stayed up WAY too late watching television.
The other night, we noticed that both kids seemed to like the movie "Polar Express", so we decided to watch it ourselves.  It was really good!  We all thought it was funny with the toys going down conveyor belts.  Like we have those!  Maybe you could look into something like that for the future?  It could mean we'd have even more time to make toys if we didn't have to pack everything by hand.
As you can see, we really enjoyed the movie.  Hope the kids will enjoy having it.  Didn't think we'd have time to watch it back at the Workshop.

Under Construction

Dear Santa,
Tonight we decided that we wanted to make a space all our own.  So I borrowed some of Jackson's implements of destruction, I mean, CONstruction, and made a cool little fort.  I hope the dad doesn't mind, but we used his foot stool cushions for the walls and a blanket for the roof.  These toy bulldozers may look small, but they are big workers!
Alex and Caroline managed to find a small tree in the house.  We put the family dog in a harness and used her to drag it into our new digs.  Caroline and the dog decorated it.  Caroline said it reminded her of the tree in the Grinch.
Caroline was able to go to school with Scarlett today.  She said that it was lots of fun, and that she was able to meet another elf.  She said that she didn't catch the elf's name, but that he seemed very nice.
Hopefully tomorrow we can give you a call.  Alex is homesick and wants to talk to his pet penguin.   Until then!

 Dear Santa,
Tonight we just kinda took it easy.  Caroline and Alex played Uno and drank juice boxes like fish.  I hope that the kids didn't need those for lunch!
The kids have struggled today.  Scarlett got into trouble at school for talking and had to pull a stick.  We aren't sure what that means, but she was quite embarrassed to tell her mom and dad about it.
Jackson fussed off and on with his sister about choo choo trains and wanted her to keep winding his toy train up (again and again).
I checked out the stable to see if it was sufficiently comfy for the Baby Jesus.  I thought it was rather a tight fit.  I think I might put some tissue or something in there to soften it up for the sweet child.
Tomorrow Scarlett wants to take Caroline to school with her.  Everyone else apparently is allowed to take their elves, so I guess she can take hers.  I hope that Caroline can stay on her best behavior.  I worry that I cannot be there to keep an eye on her.  Guess Alex and I will just hang out and watch some ESPN (Elf-Santa Presents Network).  Maybe we will try riding the dog!

P.S.  Would you please tell Blitzen to water my Christmas cactus?  Thanks!

We made it snow!!

Dear Santa,

Last night we decided to have a little fun.  We used our special elf magic and frosted the windows with snow.  On this window, we put a picture of you, Santa!
You remember seeing Frosty the snowman?  We put picture of him on the other window.  I think the little boy, Jackson, really likes Frosty.
The kids really enjoyed the little gifts we gave them yesterday.  Jackson took his choo choo train to daycare with him, and Scarlett seemed very pleased with the Nativity snow globe.
We are still on the job down here watching the kids.  So far, they have been pretty good.
Tell Mrs. Claus that we left the kids some more of her Christmas tree cakes.  Those kids sure do like those little cakes!
Not much else to report today.  Everyone is doing a good job.

Happy Birthday, Santa!

Happy Birthday, Santa!  We are so glad that you decided to let us tell the kids that your birthday is today, December 6th.  May this birthday be the best ever!  Talk with you shortly!

Toys, toys, toys!

 Dear Santa,

As you suggested, we found a couple of little goodies the kids will like.  Since we knew Jackson loves choo choo trains (and you!), he will get the Santa Choo Choo.  Caroline had noticed that Scarlett likes little snow globes, so she will get a snow globe of the Holy Family at Nativity. Oh yeah, and we threw in a couple of candy canes.
You never did tell us what to do about your birthday.  Come to think of it, I don't know when it is, either.  Is it that big a secret?

Please tell Mrs. Claus that we all miss her.  We loved hearing her read stories to us while we made toys and snacking on her wonderful cookies.  We wish she would send some goodies to us.  Those Christmas Tree cookies were really good.  And the kids liked them, too!
We have finally come to an understanding with the dog.  As it turns out, she is fairly nice - for a dog.  I mean, she isn't a reindeer, but she is still pretty cool.  We have told her to expect you on December the 24th.  She promises not to bark or bite when you come in the house.  You might consider bringing her a little something, too.
Do you like my picture?  Alex took a good one of me.  I think I look quite festive with all the bright lights, don't you?
Better get this computer shut down.  Tell Rudolph to remember to be sure and feed my goldfish!

Sorry!

Dear Santa,
Well, not really sorry.  Friday night we were playing Sorry and of course Caroline was beating us boy elves!  Alex kept sending my pieces back to Start.
But I am sorry that I have not sent you anything the last couple of days.  Since I fell asleep on the computer, the mom has been keeping a close eye on us.  It has been hard to get near it to write!  I managed to figure out the camera timer so you can see me.
Yesterday, we decided we would snuggle up with the kids' stuffed bears.  They are lots better to sleep with than the dog.  At least they don't squirm! Oh yeah, and Santa,  Scarlett wonders when is your birthday?  I bet she wants to buy you a present!  What do you want me to tell her?

Dear Santa,
Last night, those two crazy elves were hanging from the light fixture in the Mom's office.  I think they might have messed up her room a bit, but it was already so messy it was hard to tell.
The kids were kind of whiny last night.  I heard Scarlett arguing some with her parents.  Hopefully, she was just having a bad day.  It doesn't seem to be like her, so please let it go this once.
No one has noticed me yet.  I am pretty good at hiding before anyone gets up. Hopefully, I can continue to write you without anyone knowing I am here.
I am getting sleepy - think I will close my eyes for one moment and then go on to bed.

We are here!

Dear Santa,
Just a quick note to let you know that we made it safely here.  The young elves snuggled into to tree.  I think they were missing home a little bit.  I tucked your note in beside them.  The house and the family seem very nice.  I am not sure about the dog.  It could be trouble.  I will write more tomorrow.  We are all very tired.

On best behavior

Dear Santa,  Caroline and Alex (as the kids have named them) are behaving well.  Tonight we all went through the house checking out things.  I helped them pick out a book to read so that they wouldn't make too much noise.  Alex really likes "Llama Llama, Where's My Mama".  Caroline read the story to Alex.  As you can see, he sat nicely and listened.  We left the kids a couple of Christmas Tree cakes as a surprise.  Sure hope that they like them!

Look what they did!

Dear Santa,

They still have not noticed that I am here.  Guess what I caught them doing tonight?!  After everyone was in bed asleep, Caroline and Alex tippy-toed into Scarlett's room.  I don't know how they managed to not wake up the dog - they were giggling the entire time.  Anyway, they snuck into her room and stole all of her panties!

I managed to quickly snap this photo.  As you can see, it is a joint effort with Caroline boosting Alex up on her shoulders to "decorate" the tree with Scarlett's underwear.

Santa, I am not sure that it was such a good idea to send two young elves - maybe next year you should send someone more responsible.

Scarlett is being pretty good.  She fell asleep in her Mom's recliner last night.  Jackson went to sleep easily as well.  So far, so good!  I will write again tomorrow.
